FMTSO - Earth Day

Earth Day brings back memories of high school where we celebrated big with music and picnic lunches outside. Games and gossip, friends, sunburn and of course the message of saving the Earth.

As a child of the late seventies and being a some-what hippy turned tree hugger I love Earth Day and the thought that we can and should save the world. Dorie talked about Earth Day all week and I loved it and am glad that she is being taught at such an early age about our natural world. She is in the photo to your right planting Pumpkin seeds with her Papa.

I am often found telling fellow humans that we (mankind) were an afterthought and placed here to enjoy what God made before us, plants, animals, sea and land and it is up to us to protect it.

Hope you enjoy these photos that were taken in and around Fair Play, SC were I just spent 3 lovely, quite weeks visting my hubby who was working in the area.

A Little Cabin Fever and FMTSO

Oh what a joy, peace and quiet. No phone (well except the cell) almost no television and just the sounds of nature along with the ac lulling me to sleep.... yes it is Spring here in SC and the air conditioners are offically buzzing as are the bees.

I am here at the cabin in Fair Play for a few weeks and the kids and grandkids will be here soon for a few days.

I took a day off from my self excile and drove around to shoot a few photos for My Town and found a wonderful grave yard with ancient stones... I must find some paper and crayons to do some rubbings... yes I do love to do that!

I did shoot a photo of the church to stay within the theme but to tell you the truth, I could have stood under that Magnolia Tree and listened to an old time Sunday preaching for a long time... I felt such peace when I stepped under her branches...

FMTSO - FOOD

How could I not choose this topic? Some of you know that I have a food blog so I felt pulled to cover this topic, and to tell the truth I really didn't have to debate too long when pondering what topic I would cover.

I invite you all over to my food blog: Foundations, just click on the link to your right and there you will find more photos and some wonderful recipes for many items including those I have featured here...

I choose to include this photo of Dorie sipping a cold Diet Coke as we were on a picnic in Atlanta and I love picnic food and a cold soft drink... that first sip when the bubbles tickle your nose and it slides down your throat on a hot summer day...
